Tube Exhibition 2026 has learned that existing data shows the pipe industry prefers to achieve industrial upgrades based on the current foundation, aiming to raise the professional quality of every practitioner, rather than simply increasing profit and market share.
Tube Exhibition 2026 also found that small and micro enterprises are referencing similar approaches. The engineering manager of Creative Metal Products in Neenah, Wisconsin, stated, “The company has always focused on improving skills and cross-training the existing team, so production no longer relies solely on specialized skilled personnel. This also enhances the team's ability to handle unexpected situations and maintain work progress when incidents occur. At the same time, the team is considering introducing software and equipment with lower skill thresholds and investing in automation and advanced machinery.”
The company provides training for each employee on different equipment, not only because cross-training enhances employees’ skill levels but also because it increases the likelihood of employee retention.
Relevant managers believe that in the early stages of joining the company, if employees start as pipe press operators, the company provides targeted training in pipe manufacturing-related skills. However, this long-standing approach has shown a problem: employee retention is not high because workers may feel bored with repetitive day-to-day tasks.
Therefore, implementing a job rotation system can genuinely provide each employee with greater opportunities for advancement and broader perspectives, which is also very beneficial for the company’s development.
